ABPN certification in psychiatry or equivalent
- An Academic appointment with demonstrated progression over time except in special circumstances (e.g. NIMH)
- Subspecialty boards or Certificate of Analytic Training
- Evidence of significant publications in number and quality. Criteria include but are not limited to:
Refereed journals
Primary authorship
Books
Sustained activity
Originality
Age consideration
Major influence in field
Total number of papers - Documented evidence of excellence in teaching by peers. Criteria include but are not limited to:
Invited lectureships outside one’s institution
Invitation to present teaching techniques
Media requests
Endowed professorship - Documented participation in scientific/professional organizations over time (level and consistency).
Criteria include but are not limited to:
Presentations at scientific meetings
Offices/titles held in such organizations
Committee work - Teaching and educational awards and honors, including number and type (e.g. institutional, national, or community prizes received, or selection as outstanding teacher by students)
- Community involvement in mental health organizations
- Former College Laughlin or PRITE Fellow
