In previous years, The College has selected one psychiatry Resident and one first-year child psychiatry Fellow to serve on the PRITE® Editorial Board.  This year, the PRITE® Fellowship Selection Committee will choose two psychiatry Residents and two child psychiatry Fellows from the United States and Canada to serve on the Editorial Board.  These Fellows participate as full members of the Editorial Board by contributing and editing 40 or more PRITE® questions annually.  The College pays for each recipient to attend the June meeting of the PRITE® Editorial Board and one Annual meeting.

COMMENTS FROM PRITE® FELLOWS

"Psychiatric education and training are major interests for me so the chance to have an impact on the educational experience of psychiatry residents across the country was an incredible opportunity."
Tanya Royster, M.D.
1995-1998

"Being an editor for the PRITE® is enriching for me academically and socially. It has introduced me to a wonderful group of psychiatrists from all over the country. I've enjoyed learning the interesting aspects of their areas of expertise as well as many of their fascinating life experiences."
Gary Collins, M.D.
1997-2000

"I like to begin with the bottom line: the PRITE® fellowship is a fabulous experience that I recommend to any psychiatric resident. My experience as a PRITE® fellow was a true highlight in my residency training and was helpful in a number of respects. First and foremost it was a great opportunity to meet and interact with training directors and other psychiatrists dedicated to improving residency education. In these days of economic pressures and staffing cutbacks, which impinge upon training, it was a true delight to work toward the shared goal of improving education. Second, it was my experience that writing PRITE® questions and editing the exam were excellent preparation for the written board exam. Third, it was an unparalleled chance to have a positive impact upon the training of my peers on a national and now international level. I strongly support the educational mission of the exam, and the continuing commitment that the Editorial Board has made to include residents as full members. Resident input is vital to keeping the exam relevant and helpful to today's trainees."
Philip Merideth, M.D.
1996-1999
