DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION The award is presented at The College's Annual Meeting where the recipient is invited to present a featured lecture summarizing her/his work. The Awardee receives an honorarium and a commemorative certificate, as well as travel and hotel expenses. In 2003, the Annual Meeting will be held February 26 to March 2 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver, Canada. Mood disorders encompass those psychiatric disorders in which a disturbance of mood is the predominant feature, including depressive, dysthymic and bipolar disorders. These disorders affect many people throughout the world resulting in considerable suffering and disability. The College wishes to encourage and reward those who are dedicated to research targeted to improve the lives of those afflicted with mood disorders. The Award for Research in Mood Disorders was first given in 1998 and is sponsored through an educational grant in the amount of $5,000. METHOD OF NOMINATION Nominations should include:
