DESCRIPTION
The Award for Creativity in Psychiatric Education recognizes a teaching program that demonstrates innovation in psychiatric education. The Award consists of a grant and a certificate. One representative from the program receives travel, hotel, and free registration at the Annual Meeting.   A second representative receives free registration only.

METHOD OF SELECTION
Eligibility

The Award is open to any creative/innovative program for psychiatric education which has been in operation for at least two years, and which has been a part of a U.S. or Canadian approved psychiatric Residency training program. Trainees may include:

  1. Medical Students
  2. Psychiatric Residents
  3. Sub-specialists (PGY 5-6's/Fellows)
  4. Post-graduates (CME)
  5. Allied Mental Health Professionals
  6. Community Involvement (public participation)

Criteria
The program will be judged according to the following criteria:

  1. Creativity and innovation
  2. Contribution to a significant educational issue
  3. Effectiveness
  4. A potential model for other programs

Site Visit
Based on the above criteria, selected programs will be site visited.
